As an American who truly knows that our country is the greatest nation on earth, I have been concerned about the erosion of morality and the increasing levels of corruption in government that we see on a daily basis. I attribute most of this to the loss of caring or understanding of our historical roots, which was the foundation of our beginnings. Our Founding Fathers were brilliant men, full of courage and common sense. They produced the greatest documents of all time, the mainstays being The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution and The Bill of Rights. These writings give birth to our freedoms, dignity and equality of all citizenry. Sadly, much of this history, especially the understanding of these great documents that granted our freedoms, have all but been forgotten. This real important segment of our history seems to be absent from our educational system in today’s society.
